Born in 1908 in Pico, Itlay. Prose writer, poet, translator of literature (into French, German and Russian). He studied humanities in Rome and Florence where he graduated with the thesis on Anna Achmatowa. He debuted in 1930 and several years later his first collection of short stories Dialogo dei massimi sistemi (1937) was published. He contributed to magazines such as: „Il Mondo” or „Il Corriere della Sera”. After many health problems caused by his turbulent lifestyle, he died on 8th of July 1979 in the hospital in Ronciglione.
